This quilt is constructed entirely from half-square triangles, alternating light and dark. By lining up the triangles to form paths, and varying the tonal values within the light and dark sets, I've created the illusion of a three-dimensional maze. The lines in this quilt don't really form a maze, but they feel like they might, and it's fun to trace the paths with your hands to see there they might go.

I experimented with mixing machine and hand quilting on this one. The light paths are machine quilted, and the dark paths are quilted by hand with thick pearl cotton. The back continues the Maze theme, as the bold quilting lines look like the dotted lines of intersecting roads.

The backing is soft cotton jersey, and this quilt has the yummiest crinkle to it after being washed. It's my favorite to cuddle up with.
