COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
TEACHING AND VOLUNTEERING

One of my favorite ways to share my love of quilts and stitching is to teach others.
My teaching philosophy encourages participants to experiment and improvise, and to embrace imperfections.

Coming from a tradition of frontier quilters in the American mountain west, I believe in using what we already have, celebrating our capacity to solve problems creatively and collaboratively.

PAST WORKSHOPS

Hand-sewn translucent patchwork with two-sided enclosed seams in the style of Korean jogakbo.

This pre-recorded video tutorial was offered at part of the MAKING ZEN online retreat hosted by Zen Stitching in September 2023.

The MAKING ZEN Online Retreat is a five-day event that will help hand stitchers and crafters learn new processes, improve their techniques and get inspired with a wholistic approach that nurtures their well being.

GROUP QUILTMAKING WORKSHOPS
Historically, quilts were made by communities. Collaboration, acceptance, and freedom of expression guide our group ethos.

The students in my quilt workshops brought fabrics from home to up-cycle into modern lap quilts.

Participants in a group quilt project made individual quilts blocks and combined them into one large and stunning quilt, illustrating the diversity and inclusivity of our group.
